Great book for lower grades (and upper) about the water cycle. Rhyming text and the day to day life of the two characters will resonate with the reader.

This probably warrants a closer look and re-read at some point. Chin's illustrations are gorgeous and I quite like the idea of it but I guess it's asking a lot for a book about the water cycle to be immediately and completely engrossing.

Read for Librarian Book Group
This book included a few extra stages of the water cycle (mud?) that I took to be padding to reach the magical 32 page quota/limit. The rhymes were clunky at times. But I would recommend this for the illustrations alone.

I read this as a mentor text for nonfiction picture book writers. A clever way to show the water cycle…I can definitely see how a teacher could use it to introduce a unit on water. The back matter nicely complements the lyrical text.

One of my favorites! I use this one all the time to show students how beautiful writing and science facts can be in the same book! It has a rhythm and rhyme to it that is absolutely wonderful.

Beautiful picture book about the water cycle. Sparse text perfect for young scientists.
