This one takes place in DC with politicians and journalists. I always enjoy her's.

I've read a good few of MHC's books - they're always a good bit of fun.  However, content warning for this one that there is a *lot* of fatphobia throughout this book - so unnecessary!

Plot or Character Driven: Plot

Typical Mary Higgins Clark book except it told you the name of the antagonist (usually she just flashes to their mindset, doesn't tell them your name). Didn't like the 3-4 sentence flashbacks the main character had in the middle of a scene because they went from first person to third person.

Keeps you Guessing!

This book keeps you Guessing the entire time. At one point you think you know what is going to happen and who did what then Ms. Clark changes everything!

I was expecting an excellent, page-turning thriller with unexpected twists. This wasn't it. I have read multiple Mary Higgins Clark books, but this is by far my least favorite one. I couldn't bring myself up to care for the MC (she *was* told by literally everyone not to stay in that house, c'mon, the way she acted was just a tragedy waiting to happen), the writing style was stiff and the ending was disappointing.
