I actually really loved this one.

I think Alice Feeney writes great thrillers and I was confused the entire story (like you’re supposed to be) so I did not see the ending coming at all.

I did have to take off one star; there is a part of the plot that surrounds some very sensitive-TW type things that I didn’t love… it was hard to read and I didn’t feel like she addressed it later on with the main female character and how she was coping.

Overall, good read!!

4.5 stars. Alice Feeney is the queen of plot twists. I did not see it coming until right before it was revealed, and even then I questioned it. This is a very fast-paced thriller/mystery that keeps you guessing the entire time and I really enjoyed it. I’d rank it after Daisy Darker but above Rock Paper Scissors (although they’re all three fantastic).

Good story and ending I didn’t see coming however it became really dark and many topics I typically don’t want to read about but you’re too plugged in and want to know the ending.

I really enjoyed this book and I read it in 2 days! Very hard to put down once you start. Definitely look at trigger warnings before reading: scenes of grooming, abuse, rape, and detailed murder scenes. So many twists, but it did leave me with a couple points (that may not be important to everyone, but had me deduct a star from my review): the other police officers should’ve known Jack was involved with Rachel because it was mentioned at the morgue that semen was found. After this, the point was dropped and never mentioned again. However the book did take place rather quickly, so maybe it wasn’t enough time to do a DNA test. Also, why did the killer want Catherine to commit suicide? Catherine seemed like the more likely one to want revenge to me, and the fact that the real killer wanted her gone too was sad. The only person I really had sympathy for was Catherine/Cat during all of this and it was not right to me that she was killed/supposed to commit suicide.

I wasn’t as into this as other Alice Feeney books. Also did not expect some of the really graphic and disturbing content throughout the book. Usually doesn’t bother me but it did in this book
