This was a good finish to the series, and I was really happy with how Annabelle Jacobs wrapped it all up. With all of his friends all loved up, It was nice to see Matt finally get his own HEA.

Some parts of this one seemed to be a little repeat of elements from previous books, although I suppose that’s to be somewhat expected when you’re talking about shifter society. Much of what occurs is based on primal instincts and behaviors, and once those are defined and established they apply to everyone. The similarities between Matt & Thomas’s situation and Ash & Sam’s were a little convenient, although Matt’s purported sexuality added a bit of a twist. Overall this was another exciting paranormal romance with what I’ve come to recognize as Jacobs’s trademark action & suspense. She’s a master of this genre, and every book I read is just further proof.

My favourite of the three

Matt's story has been my favourite of the three books in this series.

Matt's always been on the edge of the story, feeling like he's the odd one out, not a full shifter, only having claws but no fangs, no mate.

He's occasionally lonely so when he gets the scent of his mate, the fact it's a man is something of a shock, but he can't deny the attraction he feels for Thomas.

The political ramifications of the plotting to recreate the pathogen serum are concluded in this one and Thomas is the son of a politician who has been secretly working to stop the abductions and abuse of the altered.

He was kidnapped and injected with the new serum and has become altered, he only has claws like Matt and he is gay so finding his life mate when he gets shifted off to safety with the pack down in Cornwall isn't as big a shock.

Seeing the relationship blossom between these two men is a lovely thing and they mesh together well, none of the miscommunication which often plagues 'out for you' stories.

When the threat comes to their doorstep, they fight for each other and their family in the pack.

As with the previous, the sex is moderate but loving and we have a lot of off the page romance but it works within the context of this world. I'd love to read more in this series.

All three are available on Kindle Unlimited at the moment.

My favorite couple in this amazing series!! I love the way fate surprises Matt in the "mate" department! He's such a cool guy and I think it was so wonderful to have an MC who yearns for love and romance for a change. Thomas is such a great fit for him!

I again loved the mix of action and romance in this story and I was very pleased by how it all turned out in the end. The epilogue was sweet and hopeful, perfect!
