Perfectly serviceable book about friendship, deep friendship that spans decades and a continent. This impromptu roadtrip and the conversations it engenders is not anything new to the genre but will reaffirm reader's sense that old friends, ones who knew you "back when" and can take you "back there/then" are the best. It may even make you pick up the phone and call a few of them.

This book made me want to take a few weeks off from "life" and take a road trip with some old high school girlfriends! Claire, Jenna and Nicole each have their own life burdens they've packed up to take along on this road trip of self-discovery. They'd hoped to leave those burdens behind, but along the way, they help each other deal with their "issues" instead of burying them.
The book shows the layers and depth of women's friendships. Friends who maybe haven't seen each other for years, but can pick up where they left off, and be there to support each other when they need it most!
A wonderful story reflecting that although life doesn't always work out perfect, having friends there for you no matter what, makes it all easier to bear!!

**Goodreads First Reads book**

This was a pretty decent quick read. There were good characters all dealing with their own personal struggles but when putting them all together something just didn't click. It could have been a good book but fell just a bit short.

This book was just amazing. The author really made you feel as though you were traveling across country with these friends. Add to that the real problems each of the main characters faced and you are emotionally connected. It is a powerful story of friendship, life, and getting back to your roots to find who you are.

Reading Random Acts of Kindness was like being wrapped up in my favorite old blanket. It is a story of three long lost friends, each dealing with her own crisis in her life, who come together for a cross country trip to the place where they grew up. Along the way they help each other to deal with the tragedies they have each endured to come out on the other side stronger and more able to face their lives knowing that they are each only a phone call away with each other. This book about friendships is a wonderful book to curl up with, whether it's on a snowy, cold day or you are sunbathing on the beach!

This is the first book I have read by Lisa Verge Higgins but I plan to read others!
