I lost access to the book on kindle briefly and never picked it back up. Loved what I read so far. Looking forward to trying again

You cannot judge this book by the reviews from years ago. CoHo just re-released last week with proper editing and publishing. The original book was a chapter by chapter release she did for free to help with her writers block. She decided to put it through proper publishing and here we are!

This book isn’t like any other CoHo books. READ YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! I finished it in 24 hours and loved every minute of it! A unique story, for me at least. Sloan is strong and brave and will do anything to protect those she loves, even if it means shes treating like shit by a psycho narcissist.

This was definitely a Colleen Hoover book that is not like the rest. This had me on the edge of my seat, anxiety through the roof wondering what could possibly happen next! Absolutely loved this!

Ms. Hoover. It’s my second time reading a book from her, the first being ‘It Ends With Us’ and can I just say, it’s soo different. But the one thing she does the same is make the boyfriend of the heroine a piece of s***.

Asa is such an asshole. But we all knew that. Sloan put up with too much, she never caught a break. And Luke just got wrapped up in all the mess 🤦🏽‍♀️ and Ryan was the silent hero imo.

Idk, I don’t know what to say really lmao. This book had so many twist and turns. And I was intrigued but it took me soooo long to finish. Also I just wasn’t moved to pick the book up and keep reading most of the time. Without spoiling, I’d say it exceeded expectations but it wasn’t something I was dying to finish reading. I mean there were parts that had me gasping aloud, all the plot twists but I wasn’t really connecting with the characters all that much.
I loved the classroom interactions and the sneaking around but it didn’t make me excited to see what happens next you know. Idk, so far I’ve never read a book that made me not want to put it down so.
Some stuff got repetitive, the random sentences got annoying, Asa’s actions just kept getting irritating and it just felt very dragged out.

The ending prologue and double epilogue was insane. I never expected a epilogue to be so action packed but I feel like it could have been just part of the story. It felt like Hoover wanted to fit as many “scary” close called interactions in the story and it made it feel too long. But I like that it didn’t end in the cheesy marriage with a house and kids like romance books tend to do.

<SPOILER> Naming the baby Dalton was really really cute. And Luke throwing out the paternity test was cute.</SPOILER>

All in all, I’m going to rate this a 3/5 stars for not. But ima sleep on it and see if it changes.
🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
