Up until about 80% this book was reading as the best of the series so far (despite an aggressive amount of analogies in the writing that made it a struggle to read. You could tell they wanted to be lyrical and meaningful, perfect for a blurb or social media quote, but there were just too many of them and they were too extended, clunking up the narrative. The pace also seemed highly confused, which wound up contributing to a clunky narrative). Unfortunately, at around 84%, this book became a dumping ground for trauma porn. Extensive trauma porn, in an already unabashedly trauma-tastic series. And the payoff is never satisfying enough to make going through the gleefully awful events in this book worth it. Every time I read a book in this series, I’m excited by the potential of the premise and the characters, and every time the writing is overdone and the dramatics so heightened it just leaves be hollow and disappointed. I truly don’t understand why the romantasy community is so happy with this series.

These books certainly keep getting better! Also, the fact that she’s managed to make the ribbons their own character is amazing (and heartbreaking, ngl).

I’m going to say that the extra length in this one that helped flesh out some of the characters and plot that was missing in books 1 & 2 for me, but the overall arc is settling in and progressing nicely, then BOOM. That last 20% was such an emotional roller coaster that left me reeling!

The expanding list of multiple POVs was appreciated, though I could do without any more from Malina (I get the reasons but man, she’s a whiny cow).

Excited to see where Glow takes us!

The spice makes it worth it. Without the spice it would have been unbearable. I enjoyed the Wrath, if they had been more than supporting characters it may have helped the book. Ultimately the twist did catch me off guard, but I wonder what Glow will be about.

Best book in the series by far, I was on the edge of my proverbial seat the entire time, I couldn't put it down. Probably the fastest I've read a 600 page book in a long time.

The way this series had me dropping EVERYTHING to finish it…😩 I ate this up like freaking candy. It was easy to read, engaging, twisty and dark and unique, and just a lot of fun to read. I kind of disliked reading Malina and Midas’ POVs because *hate them*. The way the author slowly revealed Midas’ true character over these three novels was masterful imo, because it felt true to the way an abuser hides, manipulates, and gaslights their victims and it takes a long time to dismantle that facade.  
I felt that the slow burn build-up between Slade and Auren was better than some of their intimate scenes. We’ve been waiting for it for a long time, so I think the author was doing the MOST and almost overwriting. It felt a little bit cheesy and overdone. But of course I still love them together and love Slade ✌🏼
And…I need to know more about Ryatt. Can’t wait for Glow!

What a great series! Hate that the last two books aren't out yet. I read these books to take me out of my reading slump but I'm afraid I'm about to go right back into my slump. This series has everything, adventure, magic, fantasy, lovable caracters, brutality, tension, romance you name it. Love that the main character isn't dependent on the men in the series aswell, they play very important roles, but she grows and ultimately relies on her self for safety and her own personal growth. Love it!
