I loved this book.  The author presents a history of jazz music through the visual arts.  The text is well written and informative but the illustrations are star.  Album covers, sheet music, posters, playbills and more are all included.  The book is beautiful to look at and fun to read.  Enjoy

This is a super cool book, and you need to get it for the jazz aficionado in your life. If you are the jazz aficionado in your life, get it for yourself. The chapters go chronologically, and each covers a key aspect of jazz, with accompanying text that is interesting and informative without being stuffy or dry. And the visuals! Absolutely swoonworthy! Photographs, album covers, sheet music covers, playbills, posters, jazz-inspired art, and more, with some awesome graphics, amazing illustrations, gahhhh, so fabulous! If you're into illustration and art, especially abstract/expressionism/that general idea, but you're not really into jazz, you'll still enjoy this. Can you tell I liked it? Lol!
