First time I've read any What Color is Your Parachute? book. Opted to borrow this one from the library as the 2019 had a waitlist. Working through the activities now. I think this'll really help me as someone good in their job, but not happy or satisfied and no clue what to do next. Very thorough and interesting, practical, has lots of stories, and sources.

Skimmed the god talk and skipped the whole religion/purpose chapter.

This is my go-to book for every career crisis that I've had [ridiculous that I can say that of my professional career that is only 10 years in the making]. It's great for thinking outside the box, getting info about the job market and search techniques of the day, and being specific and clear about what you're really looking for.

Solid book for figuring out who you are as a person (wants, needs, values, skills, disposition, etc.) and finding jobs that match that. The flower exercise is definitely worth completing just to have the important factors in career decisions laid out on paper, very useful for evaluating jobs against. The books guides you through finding the jobs that best fit you and the whole job hunting process. Everything is broken up and explained in a way that makes the process seem less daunting and overwhelming.
Note: I read the 2022 edition.

I read this in my senior capstone class in college and found it extremely helpful in choosing my career path. I gave my copy to a friend as a graduation present a few years later and have often thought about buying it again and revisiting.

I appreciated the conversational tone, a few good exercises and a good range of tips. I found the religious section a bit bizarre but I'm sure there are people who appreciate.

Brilliant book! It has a lot of great advice; from looking for and finding a job, the interview process, and to dealing with issues while maintaining a job. I found a lot of points on the interview that I hadn’t thought of before. Would recommend this to anyone looking to find a job or start a career.
