Review - I preferred this to the first one in the series, [b:The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency|29939116|The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency|Mandy Morton|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1463563680l/29939116._SY75_.jpg|43535425]. I think I preferred this one because it seemed to have more puns and it was wittier I thought. Perhaps the author got more into their stride as the series has gone on. I haven't read the second book in the series, but I do really want to. I loved the foil that Tilly was for Hettie; the two bounced off each other really well. I also liked how the mystery literally happened over 2 days, and you really got the chance to know the characters. If you want something light and funny then this series is for you!

I did find the names of the cat authors rather humorous. "JK Rolling" "Brontë Sisters" "Jane Hair".
I found the story rather morbid, a bunch of murders occur at the literary fair, and Hettie and Tilly decide to turn a profit by displaying the dead bodies!
But the drama was rather suspenceful in the middle which made reading worthwhile.
I also enjoyed the change in characters to be solely cats. It's complete madness and doesn't make sense but I enjoyed it all the same.

This is my first Feline Detective Agency book and I found it enjoyable and fun. I really liked the puns of everyone's names as we went along and the mystery was compelling. I was wondering why I was only halfway through the book and everything seemed to be wrapped up but I didn't guess the ending twist. Hettie and Tilly were great protagonists and I loved the friendship between the two of them.
I did like this but I don't think I'm going to seek out the rest of the series. 3.5 stars!
