(I received an ARC for this book)

That prologue kicked me right in the heart! I loved Riley and Gavin's twin bond from the beginning. And sure, it maybe caused some tension or issues, but there was something so utterly precious about it. Nothing could come between them or tear them apart. Using that beautiful sibling rule of theirs, asked Riley to break out of her comfort zone, and play football on their high school team. And while she was angry with her twin's best friend Zeke for the situation he put her brother and family in, she had no choice but to be civil when they started playing on the same team. And then, it was time for them to play college football together. Ya'll...the chaos and tension is splendid! But honestly, my heart is so in love with the fact that our fantastic main character plays football! I love that so much! And I was so happy to see that Riley playing football wasn't just glanced over. We get to see how it affected her, the team, the players. It was done in such a great way! But the best part? Was Riley and Zeke having to be roommates, and having no choice to get along. It definitely wasn't easy! However, it was glorious to be apart of it unfolding! Riley didn't realize that she would seek out Zeke for comfort, approval, and understanding. But he noticed. It was truly sweet. The whole thing truly was sweet. Zeke is protective of Riley in more of loving, family way. There's SO much more I want to say, but I feel like it would be spoiling some of the beautiful moments I loved the most.

• ““Let me see you.”
• “Shut up and do that again.”
• “You’ve given a lot to the people you love. Let us return the favor.
• “I can promise you that I will show up for you, every day, and work to be a better person for you. To be the person you see in me that I can’t just yet.”
• “Now, you’re my girlfriend. Poor thing.

not your average enemies to lovers!!! really more like ex-best friends to lovers. there's so many more emotions behind the fact that they were best friends and that zeke is still best friends with gavin. the promise to protect riley, whether it's because of his promise to gavin, or because he cares about her, it still shows that previous relationship.

zeke and riley were always meant to be endgame. i love them and how they came together. gavin is also my fav side character in this series!!!

the lil conflict in the last 3rd was really unnecessary tho, like yeah could have done without, there was also no real plot but i was still obsessed with their story

I really enjoyed this book. I love that the fmc was facing the odds as a female playing in a "mens" sport. I actually read Blind Side before this book, and that's what brought me here. Riley and Zeke were totally meant to be together. It was also nice to get a small glimpse of Clay and Riley's friend.

3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️.⭐️star read for me.
Zeke's romantic statements from this book 10 stars:

"Because I'm scared by the fire you starting me. Because you have reduced me to f****** ashes."
"because I ache for you," he breathed against my lips next. "and I'll end anyone who touches what's mine."

"I don't want casual," he continued."I don't want to pretend that I'm not yours in every way there is to belong to someone, that I don't yearn for you to be mine in the same way.I don't want to hide. I don't want to keep having my heart f****** demolished at the thought of this all ending at any minute."

"I don't expect you to forgive me. And I don't expect to ever have the chance to hold your heart in my hands again. But I need you to know this," I said, stepping towards her. "You hold mine. You own mine. For now, forever, regardless of what happens next. And even if you hate me for the rest of your life, I need you to know that I love you."

Considering I think this is only my 2nd sports romance novel I really liked it and I will be continuing this series by Kandi Steiner
