Hazel is unapologetically Hazel, even though most people would describe her as "a mess". Josh is the buttoned-up guy she knew in college but immediately put in the "nothing more than friends" column, because there is no way a guy as serious as Josh would put up with a woman like her, especially after she puked on his shoes. So when she discovers that Josh is her new best friend's brother, she makes it her mission to be his best friend too. And her first objective is to find him a new woman to date after his girlfriend cheats on him.
This was pretty delightful. Hazel is someone who would probably stress me out in real life, but I can certainly admire her ability to be unapologetically her from afar. I enjoyed how their friendship and relationship grew slowly, and the double date antics were fun. I think the epilogue leaned real hard on the "happily ever after", but I still enjoyed the book beginning to end.

It was goofy and cute. Hazel is loud and intense and marches to the beat of her own drummer. Josh is quiet and controlled. They are both afraid of being hurt if they open up to someone new. This is a friends-to-lovers plot. It was fun and entertaining.

This was a really cute, funny, easy read with unproblematic characters and great chemistry. Plus, I’m a sucker for friends to lovers.
