Did this author follow me around through High School or something? Such an accurate portrayal of the drama of freshman year!

Mucha's book is cute. It's full of stereotypes and tropes, but it works.

Perfect for a high school classroom library. It's quick and fun and I can definitely see it capturing a high schooler's attention. The artwork was simple but fitting and the story was realistic enough. It covered a lot of the things Freshman face during the first year of high school (dances, peer pressure, parties, dating, worrying about the future, etc.).

I found all the characters kind of annoying and over-dramatic. So... A teenager basically. (I'm kidding, don't worry)

But yeah, I just found it to be annoying. The art isn't really charmingly crude, it's just appears poorly-drawn, to me at least. I wasn't impressed with this graphic novel at all. Bleh.

An interesting graphic novel that shows what it’s like to be in high school - balancing delicate friendships, figuring out how to act at parties, having crushes. The drawings are cute and sketchy, but add in a bit to the story so it’s not all told through dialogue.

So cliche and funny in the sense that it was pretty overdramatic!
