There is so much misinformation about health from companies and people that stand to gain from selling unnecessary products and diets recommending everything from eliminating foods to starving themselves at random hours of the day. Books like this help me stop feeling like a grumbling skeptic and realize that contrary to popular opinion it is okay to believe in science and question the reasons people try to sell “health.”

Interesting, well-researched and funny! It got a little deep into the medical speak sometimes, but overall a very easy and enjoyable read.

This book is interesting and hilarious! Highly recommend the audiobook!

Fun Fact: The author is a fellow Indiana University alum so that's fun!

This was a very interesting, pleasant read full of information that is presented in a matter of fact and accessible way. I really enjoyed the examples and case studies. Hamblin is a good writer with a recognizable voice. If you’re unsure about whether this book is for you, read a few of his articles or check out his videos. He’s consistent and a delight.

The author read this audiobook and I could immediately tell, as there's a lot of millennial personality in it. But as a millennial, i mean that as a compliment. I listen to a lot of medical & science books and I enjoy them plenty, but this one felt so much more conversational and, idk, fully written in "my language" even though I don't have any trouble with the more formal writing of other nonfic books.

Anyway, I thought this book was great, and had a lot of interesting stuff, despite being an overview of human anatomy/health all together. Do recommend!

A bit bland, a bit over reaching and bit too magazine article-ie. It was enjoyable to breeze through skipping some of the sections I didn't care about (Why don't tattoos fade, and if I swallow my tongue ring what happens). The sections I read were well researched and discussed in a very common sense point of view. Nothing die hard incredible but also nothing to wasteful. Good Sunday read.
