FIRST LINE REVIEW: "Just after nightfall, a warrant arrived at the city's main women's prison for the execution of Sajida al-Rishawi." This is such an important and well-written book. Warrick takes the endless barrage of recent news from the Middle East and boils it down into a book that clearly explains what's been going on over there, why and what the future may hold. And he does it all in such a compelling way that it would be easy to think this was all fiction. Very deserving of the Pulitzer that it won this year.

Not the right time for the book for me. Will pick it up again later most likely.

Wish that I had a better foundation of the complex Middle Eastern conflicts before tackling this book but overall felt this book was very well organized and reseachered. Now off to try to actually understand Middle East conflicts.....
