I still don't entirely understand what Nora Linde brings to the series. It made sense for her to be in the first book, but she feels a little shoehorned in this one.
Spoiler Unless Sten is setting up Nora's divorce and developing a romance between Nora and Thomas. In which case, this is on super slow burn because Nora is still stuck with her awful, spoiled, and selfish husband.

The twists are also not that twisty. I had two possibilities for the killer from the beginning and the actual killer was one of them. There are little vignettes about someone's life as he grew up, which I was able to identify fairly quickly. Same for guessing who the second murder victim's lover is. About the only thing I was surprised about was
Spoilersetting up Henrik as a physical abuser. His mental abuse of Nora has been evident in both books so far. But I did not see their last argument escalating into his slapping her.
Otherwise, I enjoy the Swedish island setting for this series, and I will keep reading.

Overall the series is a four-star one, but this book takes a hit because the translator wasn't nearly as good as the first, and that created some inconsistencies.

It’s such a lovely mystery and makes me long to go boating. I love books that make you really want to travel to their location and keep you guessing.
