I might wait another year to read the next book in the series.
Things I liked:
Things I liked:
- Egwene, Elaine, and Nynaeve - their friendship and power struggles
- The Ogier Loial
Things I didn’t like:
- The plot is exactly the same as the second book. All characters race towards the same destination in parallel without knowing they are to meet up.
- The exclamations of “By the light!” Or “Light Burn You!” Get annoying very quickly.
- Perrin, Rand, and Matt’s POVs are so repetitive and boring. The introspection is terrible.

Okay so now I am tired of rating every WoT book 5 stars, but I think I will revise the ratings once I finish the series. But this book made me pick up a new book BF. The most-unlikely Mat?? How did this even happen? Goes on to show how powerful POVs are.
Listening to the audiobooks might be the best decision I have taken in a while.

Enter the struggle of reviewing the middle books in a series (for the Wheel of Time, this is unfortunately a whopping 12 books...lol).
This is the point in the series where I feel undeniably hooked. I wasn't huge on the first book - like, it was decent, but nothing spectacular - and the second book drew me in more, but I still had some big questions and/or confusions; I wasn't sold on all the characters (*cough Mat and Perrin cough*).
However, I can happily say that I am now doomed to read the next 11 books because I am invested in this world and its people (:
Mat and Perrin both come to the forefront in this installment (finally!). I enjoyed getting to hear their thoughts more! Mat is a troublemaker, but a clever, lucky one. Perrin is more reserved and maybe gets a little love interest?! I'm here for it.
And all the favorites - Lan, Loial, Moiraine, Egwene, Nynaeve, and Elaine - are still in focus. Rand is a little bit distant, as he's off gallivanting for much of the story. But I enjoyed getting to see all the characters more!
I will echo a couple other reviewers and say that the pattern of the plot seems to be to get really intense in the last 10% of the story, with the action wrapping up nicely and ending abruptly afterwards. I'm not the biggest fan, but the rest of the book makes up for that for me.
Overall, I'm excited to keep going with the story and see what happens next! The ending gave me a little bit of chills!

Still unimpressed, but I am enjoying the overall story. I like that Mat is a real person again and Perrin is getting some agency of his own for once. I think this book might have benefited from the lack of Rand's POV.

The third book in my favorite fantasy series was one of the better ones I have read so far. Rand and his party are inexplicably drawn to the land of Tear for some unknown purpose. This book tells the story of the journey to Tear and Rands progress towards fulfilling the prophecies of the "Dragon Reborn." Robert Jordan is a mastermind in making characters you truly feel are living, breathing individuals. If you have a chance to pick up the audio books off of Audible.com, I highly recommend it.
