Scot Under the Covers is the second book in the Wild Wicked Highlanders series. In the first book, we find out that the MacTaggert's estranged mother has put a condition on their inheritance. If they want to keep receiving money to keep their home in Scotland, they must get married before their younger sister gets married. The three brothers discover this secret, and head to London to see their mother and sister. They learn that she is engaged, and their mother will not take back the condition she put to their father, when she left Scotland without them.

Aden, the middle brother, is happy his youngest brother, Niall, has found love and is married, but he does not see that happening for himself. He decides he will marry someone tolerable, that is if their older brother will get married. He doesn't want to get married if his brother can't find someone. They must all get married or they lose their home. Aden did not count on meeting Miranda (who is their sister, Eloise's friend and future sister-in-law). Miranda is stubborn as any Scot, and that drives Aden wild. However, Miranda doesn't like Aden, but she needs him to get out of a forced marriage.

I am not a fan of Miranda. I found her annoying and a bit mean towards Aden. I get that this was supposed to be a love/hate relationship, but I felt a bit uncomfortable with it. Aden proved to be a great character, and along with his family and Smythe, I ended up enjoying the book. I also did not care for Miranda's brother, Matthew. I liked him in the first book, even though he was a bit non-descript. In this book, we see his weakness and he does not deserve Eloise. I get that he has an addiction to gambling and that is how he got into this situation. The situation being that he owes a lot of money to a bad guy, who in place of the money will accept marriage to his sister. It seems like Matthew just threw her under and didn't even attempt to stop it. I was even more uncomfortable with that because he is supposed to be more of a "hero" for Eloise. I don't think he does anything to redeem himself, and I am not sure how I feel about it. While I like realistic flawed characters, not this flawed though. I am looking forward to reading the conclusion of the trilogy, and am hoping Mathew goes away.

I enjoyed this book and while it was the first I've ready by Suzanne Enoch, it will not be the last.

I thought the characters were developed well and the relationship that developed between Aden and Miranda was one that kept me turning the pages. The villain of this story made things interesting and I loved that no matter how things were destined to turn out for Aden and Miranda, Aden wasn't willing to abandon her.

I look forward to the next book in this series and will be going back to check out book one as well! If you're looking for a historical romance that has an interesting story, solid characters, and some swoony romance, this is one you should be picking up.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the early copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. I didn't enjoy it was much as the first but I think that's because I listened to the audiobook for the first book and the accent is so much better when you hear it vs when you read it. But the storyline was good! I liked the two main characters. Aden is the middle son and he was kind of a goofball and I liked that. He seemed to take nothing seriously except getting Miranda free and I loved that. Miranda bothered me at first. She was so rude to Aden when he had done nothing to her, just because she doesn't like gambling and Aden was known to gamble. It bothered me but she does calm down and I loved her sass and how she never let Aden get away with anything.

All in all it's a fantastic book. Suzanne Enoch is a go to author for me and this book just added to the reasons I love her writing. She writes characters with flaws that you love anyways and the banter is always, always humorous. I love it!

My first book by S. Enoch and I just smiled the whole time.  I haven't read the first in this series and didn't feel like I missed anything that wasn't summarized in this one. I really liked the story and all of the characters. Rory is a fun visual and the Brogan story is cute. The villain is a real creep. The romantic interludes were a bit chaste for my preferences when it comes to romance reads but that would be my only con.

Love the bodice ripper cover....insanely hot. This is one hot Scottish series with sexy Scottish men who are seeking an English Lady according to their Mothers wish. This is Aden’s book, and second of the series, it can be read as a stand alone.

What did I like? Everything....this book was simply fun, and romantic. Aden was perfect from his sexy kilt to his Scottish ways. The Scottish brogue in this book was so spot on it makes you feel like your experiencing a real conversation, ....so sexy. So the mother has pretty much challenged that the three sons will be married before the daughter... so Aden was quite the surprise. At first it seems he fought against marrying a sassenach, but then he meets Miranda and sparks fly.

Would I buy or recommend? YES! This was such a fun book, and this author knows how to spin a tale. I loved it...loved Aden. Can’t wait for the next book. There’s just something about an untamed highlander that scorches the pages. Do not hesitate to buy this... just a great book. A great series.

Thoughts for the author? Just loved this book. Congratulations on your release. You are a talented storyteller, and I love the cover too. Five star book of entertainment!

This book couldn't hold my interest. I didn't like the premise of Matthew essentially selling his sister Miranda to pay his debts.

Scot Under the Covers by Suzanne Enoch is the second book in The Wild Wicked Highlanders series. I enjoy chicklit books whenever, but especially during these crazy times we are going through, I am thankful to have had this light, fluffy, and fun read. As noted, this is the second in a series, but I had not read the first book first and never felt like I missed out on anything. The author gave plenty of backstory on each character, and while reading the first prior to this one would have undoubtedly been favorable, it did not hinder my enjoyment in the slightest. The one thing about this book is it is written using Scottish wording (I'm not sure if this is the correct term here) and at first, I had to concentrate to understand what I was reading, but I very quickly picked it up and my brain switched out what was written using the American English I am accustomed to hearing. This is the story of Aden, one of three Scottish brothers, that is being forced to find a proper English wife prior to their youngest sister being able to wed her true love so they can keep their inheritance. Of course, there are obstacles in the way for Aden and Miranda being together, but these things make for a lot of adventure. I highly recommend this steamy story for a break from our current reality. Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this book, this is my honest review.

**I received an Arc in exchange for an honest review.**
Although this is the second book in this series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book and I didn’t feel like I was missing something from this story.
Aden is only in England because his mother insists that he and his 2 brothers take English brides before she will allow their sister to marry. They also need the money she’ll provide to save their beloved castle. The mother that abandoned them to return to England many years ago. They have not seen nor heard from her since she left and mom if them are particularly ready to cooperate. Oh Aden plans to find a lass and leave her in England once he weds her. Once his younger brother falls in love, he starts to wonder if there’s something more.
Miranda finds herself in an untenable position. Her brother owes a great deal of money to a ruthless man who has decided she has is to wed him to settle the debt. Add in the infuriatingly attractive Scotsman, who is soon to be her brothers brother in law. He’s sexy and invasive and not at all what she should want.
I loved the back and forth between these two. Aden values Miranda’s intelligence but also desires to protect her. They do not immediately trust one another but they form an uneasy alliance. This book is plenty sexy and fun and is a very easy read. I love a man with a plan and Aden is a couple steps ahead of everyone.
I cannot wait to read the next book.
