SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Jett is devastated to find out that the man who she thought was her father really wasn’t. It was bad enough that he took off when she was twelve, but now she finds out he wasn’t really her dad.

So she goes to seek him out under the guise of having him mentor her the summer before her college art program starts.

But when they re-unite after being apart for six years, and with the knowledge that he isn’t her biological father, their relationship seems to have changed. And Jett isn’t sure how to act on it.

REVIEW:

This was really good for most of it. Definitely taboo. Mason might not have been her biological father, but he raised her for twelve years as his own. So it’s certainly taboo.

Now, the warning also says it’s DARK. As a big dark romance fan, I can honestly say it’s not. It’s TABOO, not DARK. There is a difference.

Anyways, the book was great for the most part. It was taboo and sexy. Tons of chemistry between the main characters.

But the ending really brought my rating down! I mean, the exhibit with the drawings of her growing up was sweet. I actually liked that because at the time of drawing them they were innocent and it was a way for Mason to come to terms with the fact that his feelings didn’t shift inappropriately back then.

But when he gets down on a knee to propose to her, kisses her (passionately), and whisks her away to have sex IN THE MIDDLE OF AN EXHIBIT HE DID ABOUT HER AS HER FATHER, that was just weird. They had no reveal that she isn’t biologically related to him or anything. So all these people are standing around seeing a father make out with his daughter. He really should’ve had a press release or something before doing that. Seems like it would tank his career. Or, who knows, maybe it would cause his career to take off even more because of the scandal. lol Either way it made me uncomfortable.

Overall it was a great taboo book. Ending could’ve been better, but overall sexy as deliciously forbidden.

Despite the taboo nature of the story (which is definitely not for everyone), I loved it! It was a fast and compelling read with beautiful descriptions and plenty of steamy sections. I appreciated moments of consent, clearing the air, and taking care of the characters throughout the crazy revelations that occur. I’m excited for what Margot Scott has planned next!

Holy Hotness

This book is so hot. This is a forbidden stepfather/stepdaughter romance. I love forbidden romances. No spoilers but this book is a definite must read

Look, this is taboo and hot as hell. If this is not for you, you have beenwarned. Do not continue and then turn and judge because it isn't your cup of tea.

So, we meet Mason and Jett. Jett is now legally an adult and she wants answers as to why Mason who she thought was her papa but found out recently he is not, left her years ago. Jett hasn't seen him in years. Mason is determined to still be dad to Jett until one night changes. Then feelings are realized and they go against the norms of society.

This book is great and soo flipping hot! I wish I had more from the ending.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Jett felt like her father abandoned her at the age of 12 and never looked back. For all those years Jett thought her father was Mason and then Maury rolls up and says “Mason you are not the father”.  From the moment Mason & Jett reconnected I felt the tension through my kindle. I love that the author didn’t dilly dally on Mason realizing Jett knew he wasn’t her father. I really appreciated the flow of this book. I really dislike when parents hold information from their children that they really should know, no matter how bad it might be. If it’s really bad once they are 18 you should tell them. Like how do you tell your kid they don’t need to know who their father is? That right there would make me angry. I don’t blame Jett for going and trying to find the answers herself because she was getting nowhere with her mother 🙄 At times this book made me feel icky because he would call her his “little girl” and they really made it known that he raised for her 12 years and looked at her like she was his. I felt their chemistry and then that stuff would be said and I would lose it. I feel like had he been just looked at as a guardian I would have felt more comfortable with it. I think I enjoyed this book more than I should have and I need to go to church and confess my sins🤣

I’d like to say what the hell did I just read, but let’s be honest. I knew exactly what I was getting into with this read.

This book went past forbidden and landed into disturbing, and it was hot as hell.

This book isn’t for everyone. If you don’t like daddy kink, if you don’t like books that are disturbingly forbidden, if you get offended easily this book so isn’t for you.

This book just shows that there really is a romance book out there for any type of kink you may have.

I was turned on, and at the same time I felt like I needed a shower after reading it to help get the dirty feeling of reading this book off of me.

So it’s not the dark nature that threw me off. Idc that he was her “father” while she was growing up or that he disappeared then suddenly reappeared in her life after she decided to find him. I can’t quite put my finger on it but this just wasn’t the book for me. Maybe it’s the writing style or maybe it was just the characters that annoyed the Shit out of me for most of the book.

To those complaining about the wincest theme that is happening the author literally has a warning to not buy the book if that offends you. Right there in the description. If that wasn’t enough “dark” is in the name of the book.

I just wish I liked the characters more.
