One of my favourite books of last year was Mina and the Undead, it is also a big part of why I love reading about vampires so much now. I knew I would love Mina and the Slayers as soon as I started it and I’m happy to say I was 100% right!
It’s such a fun read, full of intense action and gory horror that is just so addicting to read. There isn’t a moment where I wasn’t completely invested and once you start reading, be prepared to sit there until you’re done! The world building absolutely amazes me. I am a massive fan of New Orleans and have visited myself. It quickly became one of my favourite places and Amy captures so much of the stunning city which really makes the book come to life.
If you are like me and love a good bit of nostalgia, make sure to look out for all the 90s pop culture references. It always made me smile when I recognised what was being referenced too, just see how many you know!
I loved all the characters, it was great seeing original characters from the first book and also meeting new characters. It’s also so nice to see a friend group get on so well even if they don’t see eye to eye all the time, but this just ads to the drama of the whole book which I love. There is never a dull moment, especially with great characters like this and I still love Jared as much I did in the first book.
Overall, Mina and the Slayers is an outstanding sequel to Mina and the Undead. There is so much action, lovable characters, murder mysteries and lots of vampires. This is the perfect series to sink your teeth into for the spooky season and I really can’t recommend it enough!

I’m convinced this series is my favourite series EVER. It seriously never disappoints, flawless, beautiful, everything I ever need in a book every time! God so much happened in here and I couldn’t put it down at allll.
Yet again this was just incredible, I loved the story, all the twists and turns, the gore! It’s just truly flawless to me, like the references alone spark so much joy! That carousel scene was so lost boys god I am obsessed.
This seriously hit every trope I like in vampire media yet again, the characters were amazing, the mystery was a ride and I cannot wait for the next (and hopefully not last) book!!

This book is an equal sequel, just as good as the first! Some new brilliant characters, new twists and scary times as well as a bit of heartbreak thrown in. Can't wait for the third book. This is set to be a banging trilogy and, while I will be sad to leave this world in these books, I cannot wait for what Amy has in store for us next!
