the biggest issue i have with this book is the age gap, it’s a little much, however i enjoyed the smut as always and the religious side really made me think and reflect

As a deep and profound book about religion in the face of grief- 4.0
As a sexy book- 2.0

I don't usually write in an actual review but I felt it necessary to add that I did not think the age-gap was handled well, and also the sex scenes were often awkward. I was bawling by the end though so the emotion I felt brought the rating up significantly.

i liked the first book of the series better, if for no other reason than i don’t know how i feel about age gap and virgin/playboy tropes. you do uncover more of the Bell family lore though and

i had tears in my eyes every time he talked about his mom. her dying slowly throughout the whole book is heartbreaking

there were also a few cringey moments both in and out of the smut scenes which i didn’t experience with priest

Never read/listened to erotica before and perhaps it was a silly assumption to think that there’d not be a plot I was interested in or a plot at all but I was pleasantly surprised to find explorations of religious trauma, faith, anticipatory grief, and shame in this work?
