Fun stuff! 4.5 stars. Now I have to decide whether I'll start reading this as it comes out, or wait for the next trade.

Described as an all-female Fellowship of the Rings meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer with a lot of bad behavior. True all.

The art is bold, the panel structure dynamic, and the characters are distinct personalities. In the traditionally male-saturated fantasy questing world, it's gratifying to see such diverse women of strength and complexity, especially ones who appear to be enjoying themselves so much. Not for the impressionable, but it is fresh, action-packed entertainment with liberal use of the snarky dialogue that is my personal candy.

Oooh excited to be delving into this! The snark in this volume is spectacular. I’m looking forward to seeing this story develop further. Artwork in here is fabulous as well. If you are a D&D fan and haven’t delved into this yet I think you should rectify that ASAP.

Yeah, these women speak to me in a very profound ways. I'm sure most of my favourite lines have fuck in them.

Except the line "She had it coming. No one calls my friends cunts but me"

Or perhaps" Rat Queens! Put the sexy back in large wholesale slaughter"

Also. Shut the fuck up Gary!'

Love. True love.

I discover this comic thanks to The Mary Sue, so I bought it as soon as I could. I imagined it would be like a D&D's group made up of ladies... but it was that and also lots more. The book begins with some adventurers's groups being obliged to make some "community service" for Palisade. We know that Rat Queens have been partying too hard and they have to kill some goblins but they find an assassin. So this will be their new mission: to find out who had hired those assassins. I loved the plot, its jokes and twists and the drawing is totally awesome. I just cannot choose just a single character as my favourite one... and well, I just NEED to know how this is going to end. See you in volume two! ;)
