Great incorporation of history with a fictional storyline, it created suspense and intrigued me into what happens next. I sensed the characters emotions, especially adored main lead's sarcasm..it made me laugh. As well as showcased different point of views.

However, sometimes it did become slow paced.

This is not a bad book by any means. However, in my opinion there is nothing special about this book. There’s nothing that kept me hooked and turning the pages. There’s a couple of interesting characters in it ( Karin and the Admiral mostly) but a lot of the others are either flat and forgettable or unlikeable but not In an engaging way. The murderer themselves was forgettable to the point that when they were revealed to be the murderer I was like ‘who? ‘ and tbf I still don’t know who he was ( I’ve forgotten). I also think the political aspect of this book is a little too heavy for my liking as it disrupts the flow in my opinion however i think it was an element that was necessary to include. The writing itself is good and engaging and there are some moments in this book that I really enjoyed.
