Honestly, I might get around to it, but so far it doesn't seem likely

Not bad at all , I’m not a fan of miscommunication in books and this book literally revolves around that. It is good enough to finish , the epilogue was probably my favorite thing about the book.

I wasn’t expecting to love this so much! And even when the twist came, I wasn’t expecting to love it like I did! What a beautiful story about the resiliency of love and friendship.

This wasn't anything like I expected. I truthfully thought it would be all angsty about their past but they'd finally just give in to their feelings and that's that. I didn't give Penelope Ward enough credit. This book took a big turn that I didn't expect and turned into something with more depth and emotion than that. This was a really great surprise.

One of the best books I've read recently, but with the worst cover ever. Seriously. Don't judge by it. If I had the physical book in my hands, I'd rip it off with no regrets. I have nothing against the model - he's hot, ok - but he makes the story seem like something that it's not. Justin, the character, is much better than that.

Justin and Amelia used be best friends when they were kids, but a huge misunderstanding happened and changed everything. Back then, her grandma took care of him while his parents worked. Justin’s house was on one side, Amelia's was on the other, and Nana’s was in the middle.

When they were 15, she found out that he was keeping something from her, and decided to move away to live with her dad in another city. They were both feeling so hurt and betrayed. Their love suddenly turned into hate.

10 years later, Nana passed away and left her home to both of them, so they were forced to face each other once again to deal with the property.

It's cheesy af, but absolutely adorable, funny, sexy and frustrating. I LOVE IT.

I really feel like this is 2.5, but I’m gonna keep it at 2 because of how the plot continued.

1. I did not like Justin. Still don’t, and that could have changed but his redemption arc was not well executed. Why else? Well usually I can have cognitive dissonance with romance books and ignore and be ignorant to SOME misogyny. But, after he said she looked like a whore I was over him. He was so mean to Amelia, and that being me to my second point.

2. I don’t think all romances need strong women, there I said it. We are not strong all the time, and we shouldn’t have to be we are human. I think it’s okay for some of us to be a damsel, a lot. Switch it up a bit you know? But NOT a pushover. We don’t need that. Amelia had little to no character development, as well as her relationship with Justin. Which brings me to my third point.

3. The childhood friends to enemies to second chance lovers trope Ms. ward was tryna pull off? Failed. The pacing of each part of their relationship made the “tension” seem forced and unreal. There was no tension felt by this reader.

4. So Why 2 instead of 1 star? I loved the beginning, it was intriguing, Amelia’s Justin’s meeting was cute. Everything was fine, until it wasn’t.

The book surprised me in how it went but there wasn't much development between the love interests.

So many mixed feelings about this one! I stayed up until 3 AM reading it because I didn't want to put it down but I really, really disliked Justin for the first part of the book. And Amelia's insecurity kind of made me crazy. I don't know. I'm so conflicted!
