I picked this up because I needed a book to fulfill the category for Book Riot's 2020 Read Harder Challenge for a romance with a single parent. This was okay, but I would really only recommend it to someone who is interested in the sex, which is way at the beginning of the book anyway. The story is predictable and bland, though I did enjoy the scenes with the two children. I also am not a huge fan of using food to describe skin color...

I've never read an erotic shifter romance. Very new genre for me. It was pretty ok.

Riley gets into a car accident while fleeing her creepy, terrible ex. She's rescued by Theo, who is a hot were-bear with two cute twin were-bear boys. And he lives in Den County (get it, Den?) with an entire community of were-bears.

It was fun, a little cheesy, and had my favorite kind of ending: HEA.

Too tame for my taste.

Another shifter story but this time with bears!

There wasn't much I didn't like about Bear's Gold. I will say that I felt some things could have been fleshed out a bit more to make the story longer and not so rushed toward the end. There were also some typos throughout that were distracting.

I like the cleverness used with all the character's last names and allusion to the goldilocks and the three bears story. At times it was heavy-handed and too obvious, but clever nonetheless.

I wanted to see more Theo and his family outside of his sons. Like his brothers and his parents and I wanted Riley to get to know them. We met a slew of other characters that didn't really drive the plot. I wanted more lore in general about were-bears than a rushed explanation near the end. There was seriously nothing alluding to native american lore until the end and that could've been amazing had it been a motif throughout the book.

I really enjoyed the sexual tension and the sex scenes between Riley and Theo. They were scorching.

I understood Riley and her need to find a home and put roots down and I'm glad she got her happy ending. Overall this was a good story and I'd definitely read more from this author.

Decent, but I wish the story had been more flushed out. Also, a pre-reader would have helped for a couple of word issues ( mouth's lemonade...I'm looking at you).

With an ex-boyfriend stalking her Riley Gold decides to take off and head back to her home town. Always restless, always searching for an elusive something, she doesn’t want to head back to her family, but feels she has no choice. When her tire blows out and she hits a tree she rethinks her idea to take the scenic route. Now she’s stuck in Den County with no cell service and no hotel. Luckily Theo Kodiak offers his spare bedroom while her car is repaired, but the heat between them is off the charts and shouldn’t even be possible since she’s a human and he’s a were-bear. This place, this man and his young sons and these people seem so right for her, but she isn’t clued into what their secret is. Will she accept what they are? Could she really have found what she was searching for?

Mmmm…were-bears. I love them. They may be my favorite shifter though I’m not sure exactly why. Anyway, this is a decently written paranormal story with a little suspense thrown in, some humor and a whole lot of heat. I love Riley’s confusion about how much everyone in the county seems to love honey and honey products. lol Everyone’s bear-related names are fun and the steaminess is wowzers. There are a few editing issues, but nothing major. This was quite an enjoyable read for me. I will definitely look up more of this new-to-me author’s work.

Magical hormones do not make a love story. There is clearly Goldilocks & the Three Bears are shoehorned in, the back story is formulaic, and the language choices are disorienting. DNF.
