Meh. First half was good; second half felt dragged out, as though they kept on just missing the spy purely so the book would last longer. And the whole Lucy plot felt tacked on. But I've read worse.

Libro terribile e deludente. Non lo consiglio.

This was a good book. As someone who has read countless novels about WW2, however, this novel wasn’t unique enough. It was captivating from start to finish, had accurate historical details, but for me, the characters fell very flat.

Absolute thrill ride. I have yet to be disappointed with a Follert WWII thriller. Eye of the Needle is a fast paced spy thriller that will keep you turning the page until the very end. Great book for anyone into historical fiction or that just love a fast read with memorable characters.

This ranks up there with the best thriller spy novels I've ever read - as good as Day of the Jackal. It's Northern England, World War II, and there is a spy who has information which can cost the Allies D-Day, and perhaps the war. He's on the run and MI-5 is close behind. The characters are rich and developed, the plot is simple, but unpredictable, and the tension is tight on every page. I was enthralled. Great Book.
