I liked the idea of this book much more than I liked the book itself. It was a little confusing jumping between the two leading ladies & eras. I just think I had higher expectations & was slightly let down. I wasn’t invested in the story at all. I don’t think I’ll continue the series.

This book didn’t blow me out of the water, but I liked it. There are some tired tropes, and some of the characters aren’t as well built as I would have thought. I’m still going to continue the series.

Yes yes yes, I love this book so so much. I had so much fun reading this! Very well done and I almost forget while reading Rielle’s storyline that I know what’s going to happen. I think not a 5 as I didn’t find Eliana’s story to be as engaging as it could have been

4.5 stars! Honestly this one took me by surprise a little. Definitely on the older side of YA (sex that isn’t completely fade to black, violence, liberal use of the F word) which I greatly enjoyed. At first I had a hard time getting into Rielle’s side of the story and I mostly read her chapters to get back to Eliana’s POV but she grew on me. The two storylines/timelines are well done and I thought it might be confusing but it wasn’t. Overall pretty great YA fantasy and I’m excited for the rest of the series!
