I am absolutely loving this series. So many twist and turns. Never want to put a book down. Gripping is an understatement.

If it wasn't so late I'd start in the next book.

The first 3 books in this series were good and enjoyable.

This is the book that made me understand why people go feral for this series.

2.5. I think this one was helped by the fact that I already expected Celaena to be the most specialist special girl of all time so it wasn't an unfortunate surprise this time around. But her diligence in making every single event that happens about her - even when the slave camps are slaughtered (and there were many more examples this was just the one where I literally said out loud: really?) it's all about her, how she didn't free them, what she didn't do, like, girl? This is not about you right now and your self-pity helps anyone how? - was a new unfortunate surprise. Rowan was completely uninteresting, like, could not care less about this dude but at least he wasn't shat on from jump like Sorscha! Who was only given any character at all in order to be murdered (anyone who "falls in love" from afar, simply from dreamily glimpsing the other person never gets a lot of my respect so of course when we find out she's a spy and actually has a brain, she no longer gets to use it) and become fodder for manpain for Dorian, which was unnecessary... because broh has pLENTY of reasons to join the fight, that was just seeing a female character and going DEATH because it's easier than giving her compelling dialogue, I guess? Manon has promise though, more from only her please! Oh and Aedion and Chaol was an interesting team-up but other than that, this book didn't have a lot going for it because it was mainly just: *legasp* what??? but no one has EVER done that before, she's so sPECIAL. Like, yeah, got that memo the last book, can we nOT?

The first 50% of this book dragged a little but it did start to pick up and the last 15 chapters were WILDDD!! I cried actual tears okay I get the hype now for this series. My biggest complaint with this book is that the Manon POV chapters felt so out of place and it was difficult to keep trying to remember what previously happened with her with the chapters being so spaced out. If they’re not even going to link up in this book why not make it a Manon novella
