I think I’m between a 3 and a 3.5 on this one. I wanted to love it, but I really just liked it. The second half of the book was certainly redeeming, but the first half of the book wasn’t overly enamoring. I think honestly my expectations tainted something that otherwise could have been very charming. The character development was certainly heartwarming. This is a writer I don’t plan on writing off however, I look forward to reading him in the future.
