It's summer in the 80's and Mark Prewitt is working two jobs over school break and trying to be a normal teenager. But the electric pull of the Farrows and particularly Georgia sets him on a new path.

This is a breezy read that definitely doesn't feel difficult at all to get through but I was left with a feeling of wanting more. It's not really horror, more of a young adult coming of age tale with some "paranormal " aspects. The ending is also predictable so it feels like a build up to nothing much.

Thanks to netgalley for my arc copy in exchange for an honest review

This is a slow paced and meandering slice of life regarding bullying, bad family dynamics, and witchcraft! I really enjoyed it overall but it took a looooong time to read.

Wasps in the Ice Cream was a surprise new favorite for me! Not to mention the title is so unique and made so much sense once i started reading, I also love the horror/thriller genre, and this book delivered there in a slow-build non-gore kind of way which was enjoyable, I didn't anticipate the wonderful throw-back to the 80's, which is the time period I grew up in and I LOVED it for that as well as the story line. Several themes including coming of age, bullying, friendships, and secrets. Highly recommend as a quick and enjoyable read.

Thank you to Raw Dog Screaming Press and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was an engaging listen! It really nailed the nostalgia of summer vacation and that feeling when it ends. The bittersweet ending was also kind of refreshing.

This was a good coming-of- age book, as a whole. I don’t feel as though it should have been classified as horror though. That was honestly a let down because a horror book is what I was anticipating.

This book just wasn’t for me but everyone is different and that’s okay.

I do appreciate the chance to read and review this book. More importantly for the author’s hard work and dedication their book.

I wouldn’t say the book is horror horror. It’s more a gothic coming of age, but the characters are so well done and the novel is so well written that it doesn’t matter.
