I think this series falls flat with me, and I can't really identify with the story. Some parts are done really well while other parts make me wonder why I didn't skip the page.

Maybe it's the reading in between English and Portuguese that makes me not like this book as much. I know I like the author's writing and that I adore her character and how interesting she is on her own. But the way the plot is written in Portuguese makes me believe a lot was either cut off or overlooked in the translation.

I really enjoyed Eve of Darkness. I've read some of Silvia Day's contemporary romance novels and wanted to see what she would do in a paranormal romance. I'm glad I picked this up.

The first chapter if more of a prologue than a true first chapter in my opinion, but I liked having the glimpse into the future that it gave me while reading the main character's discovery of her new world, talents, and challenges.

The world and character building were great--they are unique and kept my interest. The first book had a satisfying ending while opening up for the other two books in the trilogy.

Just really hard to get into and follow along. I enjoy Sylvia Day usually, but this one was not my cup of tea and I’m disappointed about it. There’s a fantastic premise but just executed poorly.

I am not a fan of paranormal genre. But I've read Sylvia Day's The Renegade Angels Series and loved it, so I decided to read Eve of Darkness, first book in the Marked Trilogy.
With a fierce female lead, Evangeline Hollis torn between two brothers -- Alec Cain and Reed Abel, Eve of Darkness was irresistible right from the very start. I will read the rest of the Marked Trilogy to know what will happen to Cain-Eve-Abel. What evil they'd fight and vanquish along the way is only secondary.

I thought this book was quick, fun, and sexy. I really enjoyed it and finished it within a day.
Eve is our badass, kickass heroine and things take a turn when she gets the mark of Cain put on her. Alec Cain is in love with Eve and has been for the past 10 years. He's trying to help Eve as her body is now changing due to the mark that's been put on her. Reed Abel is Eve's handler as well as Alec (Cain) brother. Reed also happens to be the one who marked Eve in a (hot) stairwell sex session.
Eve of Darkness is a great new & sexy take on the biblical story of Cain & Abel. This book isn't wicked smutty but, the plot is great and leaves you wanting more when you're done reading it. If you're looking for something different to read that's quick and will draw you in than Eve of Darkness is it.

This story is based on the bible story of Cain & Abel, where they are hunters of the bad things on earth, demons, nixes, faeries, etc. The main female character Eve is a newly turned hunter and the brothers are fighting to protect her and make her theirs. I liked it a lot, it was sci-fi/religious meets Bared to You. This is a much older series by the author of Bared so the sex scenes aren't are detailed as her other books. I loved sci-fi/paranormal books so this was right up my alley. It wasn't as good as others that I have read along the same idea but I enjoyed it and that is what counts.
