Niekada labai nesidomėjau psichologija, iki perskaitan šią Viktor. E. Frankl "Sielogyda" knygą. Ir supratau, kad pagaliau pribrendau saviugdos knygoms.

As “Man’s Search For Meaning” is hands down one of my favourite books of all time I was slightly disappointed by this one tbh.

It was much more clinical & therefore would probably be super useful/relevant to counselling professionals (ie: psychologists, social workers). But for the lay person I’d say take it or leave it.

I liked some of the points Frankl makes here, particularly about the necessity of suffering and happiness not being an end goal but a side effect of having a purpose. But the rest of the book is either too technical or cringe-worthily outdated (the section on love). Fromm's and Horney's works aged a lot better than Frankl's.

This was an incredible read. I started it for class but finished it for me. I absolutely learned a ton about Existential psychology and the process of creating meaning in your life, and helping clients find meaning in theirs. Absolutely wonderful book.
