Ultimately kind of forgettable for me, but it was fun. And often funny in a dark way or cringey way depending on the moment. I think this would work great as a movie. As a book, I think the outrageousness of the idea kind of wears off quickly and there aren’t any twists or building tension from there.

All Yours is a psychological thriller with some very dark comedic twists. It starts with Inés, who suspects her husband, Ernesto, is having an affair. After a suspicious late-night phone call from another woman, she secretly follows him and witnesses their argument take a deadly turn when the woman falls, hits her head—and Ernesto sinks her body in a nearby lake! No spoilers here, that’s in the book’s synopsis!

What I loved? Inés is completely delusional, and it’s both unsettling and hilarious. She’s truly the star of her own telenovela.

“As I climbed the stairs, the box in my arms, I had a strange sensation, as if I were acting in a film with a camera following my progress, step by step. I, the protagonist, was illuminated at the centre of the screen. I even had one of those instrumental soundtracks that typically accompany a scene like this running through my head. It was weird. But I liked it.”

Primera vez leyendo a Claudia Piñeiro.
