Whilst the look into qanon was super interesting especially learning of where this conspiratorial thinking started in the modern age, the book can be a bit of a slog to read at times and can be a reminder of the doom and gloom out there in the world.
It was really interesting reading the portion about gamergate as I was an avid tumblr user at the time but I was way too young to fully comprehend what was going on other than knowing that gamergate was overall a bad thing.
Badham did some thorough research and the end notes are very helpful for those who want further reading.
Overall an interesting book but a dense one to go through!

This was such an interesting read. For someone who has not really looked into these internet cult conspiracies I found this book quite enlightening and interesting.
It is a hard read, and its a big book, so it takes a lot of attention. It took me a long time to get through even a small part of this book.
Still, extremely educational and highly recommended.

The story and mad conspiracy theories grab our interest. But reading just left me numb after its connections to so much pain, anger and frustration of the last decade. Not just from Qanon, but Gamergate and Pizzagate, the dark underbelly of 4chan and 8kun and even into politics. While very light on its impact from the books country of origin, Australia (outside the first chapter) it shows the dangers of going down the rabbit hole.
Simply i walk away with this, i hope those in that headspace can find help.
