This was surprisingly better than what I expected.
I read the series out of order, so I kind of had a low expectation for it. But I am definitely glad I read this because it was so much better.
This is a another Carter to add to my bookish boyfriends! He is just the right amount of toxic and still very lighthearted when it comes to the dark aspects of its relationship.
I think of Carter and Raine’s relationship, leaning towards light grey than dark.
The spice was okay it’s more like a 2 out of 5. Nothing too graphic. But this does have a promo play aspect of it that I didn’t expect.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this and I will potentially reread.

Listen, *technically* I finished it but I very quickly skimmed/flipped through the last third so I wouldn't say I actually finished it. The only reason I read that far was to see how much more stupid it was going to get. And I was appalled at how wild the ending seemed through my quick skim. Oh my god so weird, and problematic, and awful writing and smut. I hate the characters so much and the plot is so dumb.
