This was surprisingly better than what I expected.

I read the series out of order, so I kind of had a low expectation for it. But I am definitely glad I read this because it was so much better.

This is a another Carter to add to my bookish boyfriends! He is just the right amount of toxic and still very lighthearted when it comes to the dark aspects of its relationship.

I think of Carter and Raine’s relationship, leaning towards light grey than dark.

The spice was okay it’s more like a 2 out of 5. Nothing too graphic. But this does have a promo play aspect of it that I didn’t expect.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this and I will potentially reread.

Typically not a fan of bully romances but I really enjoyed this one. The hero Carter is hard to love in the beginning but watching him own his attraction/love for the heroine Raine is cute. Also Raine is a bad ass and seeing her grow into herself and her confidence, as well as stand up against Carter’s back and forth, was my favorite part. Not to mention the supporting characters— Carter and Raine’s besties, were great and served much needed comic relief at times.
