I really enjoyed listening to Slay. Not only is it an engaging story, but I appreciate that it provides an accessible entrance into the conversation about the need for "safe spaces" for marginalized communities.
Things I loved:
-sisterly love (even with non-blood sisters)
-gamer girl/promotion of girls in coding/STEM
-the validation that online communities are REAL communities and the sense of belonging within them is something of value
-the pure range of emotion I felt whole reading. This book had it all.

Moderate: Misogyny, Racism, Sexism, and Toxic relationship
Minor: Cultural appropriation

I read this one in one day thanks to an extra long commute. I really loved this one. It's a little different than what I expected, but in a great way. This had some really good commentary and friendships. I also saw that this author thought of this idea after watching Black Panther so I think if you liked both that and Ready Player One you will like this.
Moderate: Bullying, Racial slurs, Racism, Sexism, Toxic relationship, Death of parent, Cultural appropriation, and Gaslighting
