Ancient Truth is a prequel to the Mysterious Charm series, specifically about Lord Carillon, Benton, Lord Richard, Lady Alysoun, and Rufus as well as others seen in the series. Although it is a prequel, there are jumps in time and happenings discussed that take place in other books, so it might be a little confusing to read it before the rest of the series.
Reading about Carillon’s experiences after the death of his brother Temple helped me understand his character more and also appreciate the person he was in Goblin Fruit. The same for Benton. It is a quiet but illuminating novella and adds to the world of Albion very well.
