This book was very good, it took me forever to read, but I also don’t typically read these types of books. It was fascinating to see into the past and how grim life really was back then.

An interesting book on a very specific topic - like all his books, it's quite well done, though the topic didn't always appeal to me as much as some of his others. Still, it's pretty incredible (and horrifying) what these men went through, and something I'd truly never heard of before.

Manages to be incredibly compelling and informative as well as highlight the hypocrisy, cruelty and nonsensical nature of colonialism. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was fantastic, I devoured this in two days.
