I had wanted to DNF the books in this saga since book 2 but I pulled through out of stubbornness. But the writing is awful and the plot and characters just became more and more stupid with time. Genuinely unbearable. So eventually DNFd.

The story has really devolved from when it started and it was so hard to read

The plot advances with a ton of filler, but over the course of four books none of the characters have really grown or changed at all. Their conversations are repetitive, their inner thoughts go in circles, and none of them have grown. I was hanging in for the throuple but I'm done now. How can there be so many freaking pages but 0 character development?? How?? I'm annoyed because I really was enjoying this series but the only thing about Poppy that has changed is her freaking title. She's had 9 now if anyone is keeping track which is just absurd. I like where the series is going and how the world continues to get more complex, but the characters aren't growing with it and it creates such a dissonance

Good, but man this was one I really just wish had been shorter. Once you get about halfway, things finally start happening that I care about.

After the magical longed for Joining, many other sins have been forgiven. I lived for this connection all of them share, and am down with whatever their relationship looks like going forward. PoppyCasKieran for the win.
