A vivid tale of the journey endured by refugees; from the hardships they face to the hope they cling to.

More importantly, it humanises the people who our media and governments seem to reduce down to the transport by which they arrive on our shores.

It's a beautiful book full of detail. It's compassionate, authentic and a timely book that everyone should read to further understand our neighbours to whom we should extend kindness, generosity and our attention.

This is very easily one of the best, most beautiful stories I’ve read in my entire life.

I will never forget this book nor the helplessness it made me feel. I will no longer presume that I understand what other people in the world are going through, particularly in this time of pandemic and refugee crisis across the world.

This beautiful, ugly, disturbing, sensitive, violent, hopeful book has turned my world upside down. I recommend it without reservation.
