The dry sarcastic humour of this book was enough to sell me on it, but add in compelling characters and interesting plot, and it makes for an excellent read!

This was a fun little story about why it's probably not a great idea to grant the wishes of nine year olds when they've reached adulthood. And figuring out how to be a hero anyway despite having the most boring job the author could come up with and liking it. It plays around with sword and sorcery conventions quite a bit and I'm always here for that.

Also the horse is great.
