This is one of my favorite books in that I've read it so many times but it's also very problematic. The writing is sooo good and I love the style of it, you can definitely tell the author is a poet. Spoiler-filled comments on problems below. Basically, all the characters are shitty people, and you kind of hate them while you're reading it but it's also very good.
Tommy uses his power as a famous person to have sex with lots of people, including people a lot younger and people who he works with. And Stacey is just okay with it?? He also kind of coerces Stacey. And Stacey is definitely an alcoholic with an eating disorder and it's not seen as a problem. And all the cheating/the way Stacey treats Phillip... c'mon.
