So amazing! I finished it the night it came out, since i just couldn't put it down! I've already re-read everything at least 50 times in anticipation for the next book, Cress (pre-ordered!) I have been in LOVE with The Lunar Chronicles ever since Cinder came out!
Several new characters have been introduced, as well as new point of views. Captain Thorne's a barrel of laughs, and Scarlet (with Wolf!) are so freaking adorkable!
This series, and book, is not something to miss out on

2022: back for a reread and I like it a lot better this time! Funny how time can improve a story or make it worse. I liked the characters more and I hope Iko and Thorn end up as a couple. Things are not looking good for planet earth at this point in the story, but I bet the heroine can turn things around!

2016: This series started out strong and went seriously (series-ously?) downhill from there. Character work deteriorated from being interesting and vaguely multidimensional to flat and stereotypical. Anyways, I won't be finishing the series.

What it's about: A dystopian retelling of the fairy-tale Little Red Riding Hood - also, Cinder is back!

What I thought: I loved this one more than the first, and I really loved the first so that's saying something! Cinder is back and this time she's on the run from Prince Kai and the crazy Lunar queen! She's makes a gorgeous new friend, Captain Thorne (who I love!) and we get Iko back too! They are on the run and trying to stay hidden, all the while trying to find Michelle Benoit!

Scarlet is introduced in this book, the grand-daughter of Michelle Benoit. Michelle is missing and Scarlet know's she's been taken. With the help of a street-fighter named Wolf, she tries to track down her grandmother. Of course, many things are revealed along the way and there are certainly twists that you don't expect. At least I didn't.

This is a fantastic sequel to Cinder and I can't wait to see where Marissa Meyer is going to take us next! Get your hands on these ones ASAP!

The Good: I loved that this book didn't just focus on Cinder or Scarlet. I thought it was great to have both character POV's, plus Prince Kai's POV as well!

The Bad: I have to wait another year for the third book! ARRRRGH.

EEEEE. Ok I loved this so much. This twist on Little Red is something I would've never expected. Scarlet needs to calm down. Wolf needs to stop being little simp. Kai needs to take of s t r e s s.
SpoilerWhen he agreed to marry Queen Levana I audibly gasped and screamed "NO"
Iko needs to keep being Iko for moral support. Captain Thorn needs to stop....actually hes fine. Cinder needs to start training to be the BAMF she is meant to be.

BTW (when carswell thorne was introduce i immediately thought FLYNN RIDER)

For the most part it was enjoyable and I love a good fairytale rewrite! However, I felt I didn’t get enough Cinder or more of the world they’re in.

Scarlets story would have made more sense if the timeline was stretched a little because a lot of the romance wasn’t believable for me.

I do enjoy fast paced and this did it well. Very predictable “twist” which lowered my rating and not to mention how long it took for everyone to release Cinder is Princess Selene.
