From the moment photographer Lexie hears model Ryder’s voice she completely falls in lust with him. Their instant attraction is mutual and they spend a hot and passionate after work tryst. When they get interrupted by Lexie’s assistant Ryder leaves and the couple don’t see each other for months.
Ryder is just starting work as a male model. He is young but mature for his age, he is responsible and very focused on achieving his goal of having a successful modelling career. Lexie is a well know fashion photographer with years of experience.
Despite having hectic work schedules the couple meet again by chance. They have passionate moments together and share great chemistry and now that they found each other they won’t let go.
The story has suspense, crazy exes, lots of sexy times, a very sweet, dirty talking alpha hero, a fun, independent, blue haired, pierced heroine and a HEA that will melt your heart.

The Model is the first book I've read by Harlow Layne, and I already have Fairlane book one on my Kindle. Nevertheless...to the Model!! Could Ryder be more adorable? I'm asking now because I think the answer is no. And Lexie is what I want to be when I grow up. She's cool, she's confident (mostly), and she's crazy talented.

I wasn't sure where this story was going because it got off to a scorching start. Not that I mind that, but I was thinking, where are we going from here? Harlow did not disappoint. We got to watch this adorable couple fall in love and work through the mechanics of their professions, their budding relationship, and some other things that were thrown in to make it a riveting read. But what wasn't an issue as they sorted through the bumps of a new relationship was their age difference. Bravo Harlow for having them move beyond that and, in essence, get on with life.

I believe the most engaging thing about Harlow's story, though, is her imagery. Our author can describe a scene so well that I actually felt like I was there. There were several scenes that her descriptions were so darn vivid that I just had to stop and take a breath. They were not overblown or gaudy but beautifully crafted and emotive. I know now that I have more reading to do; I believe I mentioned it up there. But in the meantime, you need to get this book, be bowled over by the coolness that is Lexie and swoon over the amazingness (really? that good-looking and a super nice guy to boot) that is Ryder. Perhaps get the book previous to this too, The Intern. Harlow, I'm glad I found your books!

If reverse age gaps are your jam then you’ll definitely want to check out The Model! This isn’t my first read from Harlow Layne, however, it is hands down my favorite read! From the very first page I was completely sucked into the whirlwind romance of Lexie and Ryder and it was a wild ride I never wanted to end.

Lexie is a well-known photographer, she owns her own business, she a strong woman, and gorgeous with her blue hair, tattoos and piercings. She see’s the beauty in everything, except she doesn’t see her owner inner and outer beauty. Ryder is a young model, looking to make a name for himself and to help his family out. He’s got the model good lucks….EVERYWHERE. He doesn’t act is age, he is on a whole different maturity level than most people. He’s a gentleman and there is much more to him than what meets the eye.

The chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS! From the very first moment Ryder and Lexie met there was insanely hot chemistry, it was off the charts. As the story progresses that chemistry and connection only continues to grow. Seriously, you’re going to need a fan or two. Their relationship wasn’t easy, however, no matter what life through at them they handle it in strides. Age is just a number, when you have a connection that is undeniable like Ryder and Lexie’s nothing else matters.

The Model is everything you could want in a reverse age gap, but this story is so much more than that. There is so much that was unexpected and took the story and Lexie and Ryder’s relationship to a whole different level. A MUST READ from Harlow and one I’d highly recommend to anyone who loves this trope!

Lexie Keene is a very successful photographer and is trying to train her new assistant Raine after catching her last assistant having sex with her now ex-boyfriend, Ben. She has photographed many good looking people yet nothing prepares her for Ryder Williams or his voice that has her melting the moment he speaks.

Yet in a moment after the shoot the two can't deny their chemistry and act on it but are interrupted.

Now Lexie is trying to move on but when she sees Ryder again will she allow herself to once again give in or will their respective age differences and their differences in where their careers are halt anything before it starts again?

This was an awesome book and I loved it from start to finish! The author sucked me in from the very first page and I didn't want to put the book down when it ended!

I thought Lexie was a great character and I loved that she really didn't view herself in some golden light. She was shocked that Ryder was attracted to her and I loved the chemistry that the two of them had right from the beginning.

Ryder was just sizzling hotness and I loved how kind he was right from the beginning and respectful of Lexie yet he wanted her to know how much he really wanted her. I liked that he was prepared to work hard to obtain what he wanted and I loved how receptive he was to Lexie's advice for his career and realized that his agent may not have his best interests at heart.

I was worried when the author introduced us to Ben as it was clear he was after something that he knew Lexie had and I was worried about how often and when he would appear. I was happy that Ben brought Lexie back to Ryder and perhaps pushed them together unexpectedly but I knew Ben wouldn't go easy.

I was so happy for Lexie and Ryder in Rio and I hoped that they would be able to figure things out with the distance. I wasn't surprised at who got involved to throw everything up in the air and how everything fell apart.

I loved everything in Vegas and I am seriously loving Raine and how loyal she is to Lexie!!

I knew something big was coming and towards the end of the book more stuff blew up and I was freaking out a little! It broke my heart that Ryder felt so guilty!

The epilogue was awesome and I really hope we can see these two in another book!

New to me author Harlow Layne's The Model is a very well written, fast paced and thrilling read. An age gap romance and so much more, the writing, plot and dialogue are awesome!! The character development and chemistry between Lexie and Ryder's is incredible!

The narration took this story to another level...… absolute perfection. Lacy Laurel and Connor Crais narrated each character exactly as I would have imagined them. They put a lot of heart and steamy sexiness into their performance. I was blessed to receive an Advance Listener Copy (ALC) and loved it so much it is now in my audible personal library. Worth a credit? Most definitely!!

If one could say a book reminded them of a contended sigh, then I would say that The Model is that for me.

Let me explain;

I'm rating this book 3.5* and rounding it up. I've been reading so many heavy books lately. Mafia books and Bully books etc that when this book dropped in my lap, and I read it, it was the best of palette cleansers that I couldn't help but let out one of those above mentioned contented sighs during and after reading it.

That's not to say this book was nothing but fluff. Because that simply isn't the case, but I really needed this and I'm so glad I picked it up.

Ryder is such a sweetheart and Lexie is quite the bad ass. The age gap thing, while that part appealed to me the most, wasn't made a big deal out of (Lexie is older than Ryder)

All in all and without spoilers or anything, I'm glad that this was my first book by this author and I hope for many more. I'd even love more stories in this "world".

You can now pre-order The Model!
Coming March 25th!

This was a very refreshing read for me, it was very hot and steamy! I loved the sexual chemistry between Ryder and Lexie. There's an age gap between them, so they were in different positions in life. For Lexie, that's an issue and she doesn't want to hold Ryder back. But they know when they're together, everything's right. And Ryder's just so sweet and he knows he want Lexie in his life, despite the age gap between them. He's so mature unlike his age.

The ending..the ending was just perfect! I totally recommend this book, I enjoyed reading this so much.

The Model was a cute, sweet, and entertainingly sexy story.

What started off as a steamy encounter led to way more than Ryder or Lexie ever bargained for.
These two went on one crazy ride to their journey to happily ever after.

I must say I love how it was an age with the woman being older. The age gaps I read tend to always have the men older so I like that this story gave me something a little different from my normal.
Oh and Ryder?? He was honest to goodness a good guy and I totally melted for him.
