Would have been an easy 5 if they didn’t drop the kink like a hot potato at the very end, as if she couldn’t reconcile being past her issues with also playing in kink? Strange and sort of a let down. Also, there is a lot of subtle misogyny and slur shaming which is weird for such a kink and sex positive book? I could maybe understand it as a trait of the character but it stays with her as she grows and develops a sense of her own sexuality? It wasn’t enough to drive to distraction but just noticeable enough in parts.

4 stars only because it wasn’t my cup of brandy, which she warns readers of in her disclaimer right before the dedication. It was a very well written story overall and the spice was off the charts. I love Jade West and the way she makes even “icky” stories come to life. The character development was there, but I wish there had been more at the end. More closure for Laine and more details of their HEA.

I tried. I really did. Multiple times.
I won't go into detail, just trying to explain why this precious work of Jade West did not work for me
Not sure if it is obvious but I enjoyed every last book by [a:Jade West|10681321|Jade West|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1429497078p2/10681321.jpg] ,there where times where I had to cringe, like a lot but I always ended up liking the novel.
I like to think of myself of being very open-minded and never to shy away from rather risky stories but [b:Call Me Daddy|37857109|Call Me Daddy|Jade West|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1517854809s/37857109.jpg|54774790], idk what it is with this one, I tried to read it for the third time but it feels wrong.
It's not even about all this mainstream 'call me daddy' funk, sure it is a kink that most of us encounter more or less in the real word or in our reading material, but this book took it on a whole different level, league, game whatever and I could not cope with it.
In no way am I shaming this particular kink, you do you!! It just pushed my boundaries. With a bulldozer.
It just felt really bizarre and I tried to continue reading in because of my curiosity and my wish to finish this book.
But i felt so fucking un-com-fort-a-ble
I couldn't stop cringing.
No curiosity in the world could force me to read this one, and where is the enjoment in reading a story that makes me uncomfortable?
I am sure this is a greatly written book with a heart-wrenching story line, even so I have to pass this one.

By now I am already get used to Miss West books. Her theme is always pushing the limit. Testing moral and introducing darker twisted BDSM lifestyle. Call Me Daddy is a Dd/lg lifestyle. I am trying to be open mind reading this book. But I can not understand and connect this kind of lifestyle. I think a woman who acting like a little girl not for my appetite.
Call Me Daddy is different than Miss West other book. This book is min angst, min drama. Bit boring. I am more expecting darker twist like Buy Me, Sir. Overall this book is OK. I expect more.

Unsure how I feel about this one. Like damn it was well written, and it had plot but just.. hm.. I don’t even know what to say. Plus they seemed to grow out of the kink which I thought was odd, like it was a phase that needed shaking off
