Somehow plot and characters were incredibly boring, while reading I completely missed the fun charm rom-coms usually spark.

This book has got me kicking my feet giggling and twirling my hair.

I NEED A AARON BLACKFORD IN MY LIFE.

I LOVE AARON AND CATALINA and really everyone.

SPOILERS AHEAD

I lied Gerald and Daniel are asses.

The line that everyone raves over “I’ll give you the world. The moon. The fucking stars. Anything you ask, it’s yours. I’m yours.” Like Catalina how were you gonna let that man go. He’s been in love with you since the moment he saw you like girl bffr.

That like give you the you “wish this was you” feeling.

Her comparison to his being Clark Kent really helped me visualize him (I struggle to visualize book characters I def look up their names on Pinterest for help)

CATALINA IS A IDIOT. I feel like at least 97% of the time it is extremely obvious Aaron is IN LOVE WITH HER.

That fact that we NEVER meet Daniels fiancé suses me the hell out. I like 🤨 sir does what’s her face even exist for actual or are you a liar.

It took me so long to finish because the auctioning off the guys scene with Patrick made me put down the book and walk away for at least a day because I was SO STRESSED.

Okay actual review time so
- This is a for real for real slow burn like I mean the romance didn’t really start until around page 292 out of a 437 page book and even then she’s tipsy and is still questioning if it’s real or just pretend.
- office romance (including the struggles with possible judgement and criticism)
- At this point (1047 pm dec 14th) I genuinely CAN NOT think of a complaint about this book.

Am currently ordering The American Roomate Experiment, Rosie and Lucas book. Because I am just so excited.

I have been hearing about this book for months, with the main feedback being how everyone loves Aaron Blackford, and honestly same. The hype for this book is so real and it's so worth it. I honestly was not at all composed reading this book. One of the quotes I saw the most before reading this was the "do you want me to beg" line and for it to take place in a coffee shop, I was FLOORED. I really really enjoyed Catalina and Aaron's story even though the slow burn was torture at times. I can't wait to read more from Elena Armas in the future!!
Thank you soo much to the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

Honestly, it was really hard to get past the first half of the book or so. I found Catalina's fixation on hating Aaron to be contrived and very annoying. It was obvious that her grudge didn't have any real fodder to keep it going for two (2!) years beyond him being an awkward little man at the beginning. Also, Aaron's repeated dismissals of Catalina saying no and rebuffing him is a red flag. It's not cute or endearing. It's maddeningly frustrating. Especially because later on in the book Catalina magically stops being a strong-willed woman, unless it's to create a contrived conflict. I did like a lot of the side characters. Catalina's family is fun and inviting. Rosie does her best. There were scenes that were fun and well written, but I had a headache for most of the book because of Catalina and Aaron. Catalina isn't that likable and Aaron, being the smart cool guy that he is, should have just apologized to Catalina early on and explained himself as being an awkward idiot instead of creepily hanging around and deliberately antagonizing her because "I'd rather have you hating me than not have you at all."

Would love to see a book about Isabel and Gonzalo though. I think they are a cool couple.
