DNF at page 33.

I'm not sure this would have been funny when it was first published. Kit is awful, Shelley is vapid and lacks any sort of agency, there is ZERO consent in both the set-up of the situation and in Kit's going down on her in the limo -- if anything he forces himself on her.

And the constant inclusion of SAT words that don't fit the tone or, at times, the proper use...

Train wreck of a book.

I couldn't finish this book. I got to about page 15 and gave up. The editing is atrocious and though I think I liked the storyline I just couldn't get past the terrible writing. Yikes. I should have known the editing would be bad when one of the main character's names was spelled differently in the front flap than in the book.

A friend gave me this book to read because it was so disastrously bad she thought I needed to experience it.  I kept hoping that the main characters would die so the book would end.

I have this weird thing where I can't let myself move on to a new books unless I've finished what Im reading at that moment. This was one of those. Also I can't believe I actually read this whole book. I think i remember thinking this will get good at some point, it will flip and turn out to be somewhat sane. But it didn't.
