I was excited by the concept but it reads very white feminist. It’s a good entry point for people looking to verse themselves in women’s history but it shows that it was written in the 80s, and would have been served well by some updating or just more of an eye towards intersectionality. Some of the frequent word choice, such as ‘savagery’, also felt a bit too tone deaf for me to do anything other than DNF, unfortunately.
