The illustrations are so damn good!! The storyline is unique and different. Bea, Cad, and Nimm are adorable! A great intro to fantasy themes for younger kids!
I really wish there was a little more dialogue. Ages of this graphic novel is 8-12, so I don’t think adding a little more dialogue would be too much to comprehend for the kids.
I can’t wait to know what happens next 😁

delightful! i love when middle grade and juggle the digestible tone of children’s books without sacrificing lore or intrigue, which i think was done really well here.

Oh my goodness, I adored this! So cute and wholesome. Mostly cozy with a bit of darkness. I loved the art style, too.

The anxiety rep could've been a bit more nuanced, but I'm willing to overlook that since this is a middle grade graphic novel.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Bea, Cad, and of course Nimm (obviously the cat must be included).

I'll be continuing the series and already own the next book. 😁

If you're a fan of T. Kingfisher's MG and YA fantasy novels, I'd recommend giving this book a try!

I haven’t read a graphic novel in a long time. Lightfall reminded me how much I enjoy them. It was a fun quick read, but the story has a lot of depth.

The world was beautiful! Love how the artist used lighting in the illustrations. There just something about the scenes with the real warm glow that feels magical.

As someone that has generalized anxiety I really related to Bea. Tim Probert visually captured what it feels like when those anxious “what if” thoughts start creeping in.

One of my favorite quotes was:  “If I let the specter of certain doom stop me, I’d never get anywhere!”
